Make a Wish: Building a Shared Infrastructure for Citizen Science in Europe
🧩 The workshop “Make a Wish: A Shared Infrastructure for Citizen Science in Europe” will take place on 10 October 2025, from 12:00 to 13:00 CET, at the ÖBB Open Innovation Factory (Lasallestraße 5, 1020 Vienna).
Rethinking Citizen Science Collaboration in Europe
📌 How can citizen science across Europe become more connected, inclusive, and accessible?
✳️ This question stands at the heart of the interactive workshop “Make a Wish: A Shared Infrastructure for Citizen Science in Europe”, organised by ZSI (Centre for Social Innovation) and OeAD (Austria’s Agency for Education and Internationalisation).
📌 Hosted as part of the OIS zam: Forum, Austria’s leading conference for participatory science, the workshop invites participants to collectively envision the future of citizen science collaboration.
Exploring the RIECS-Concept Project
🧩 This initiative aims to make science in Europe more open and better connected by co-designing structures that serve both researchers and citizens.
✳️ Through participatory methods, the workshop will gather experiences, needs, and ideas from the citizen science community. Participants will contribute “user stories”—practical narratives illustrating how such an infrastructure could support diverse European citizen science initiatives. These ideas will feed directly into the RIECS-Concept project’s ongoing design process.
Join the Conversation
✅ Although the conference is already fully booked, the outcomes of this workshop will be shared through RIECS-Concept communication channels, helping to ensure that the voices and wishes of participants inform the broader European citizen science community.
✨ Stay tuned for updates and insights from the discussion on how shared infrastructure can empower collaboration, innovation, and participation in citizen science across borders.✨
